Travelling from Barcelona to Paris By Night Train

When travelling through Western Europe it is a nice idea to try to include the night train between Barcelona and Paris in your journey. This luxurious sleeper train offers one of the best train services in Europe and is very comfortable. The train offers a luxurious bar and restaurant( With full service and high quality meals!) as well as many other facilities. It arrives right in the city centers which is ideal for exploring the city without hassle and stress about transfers from the airport. This train offers 3 classes, Gran( First Class), Preferente( Business Class) and Tourist class. All classes feature beds and are within a room( Shared or private but not open plan) Fares can range from 93 Euro for a non-flexible tourist class ticket to 504 Euro for Gran Class with shower facilities. All classes are able to use the bar and restaurant although food and drink is not included in the price for Tourist and Preferente passengers. Affordable meals can however be purchased a la-carte in the train restaurant.

Gran Class

Gran Class features luxurious private rooms with 2 beds and a large bathroom. A complimentary toiletries pack is included and you will also get a free bottle of water. The train staff will guide you completely and everything is done for you. Breakfast and dinner( 3 course!) are all included in the price of the ticket and the train staff will reserve a seat for you upon arrival in the train. Gran Class is very expensive and is not recommended for business travelers, It is more of a romantic experience so this class is ideal for couples travelling together or for those who are looking for a lot of comfort and luxury on their journey.

Preferente Class

'Preferente Class' means 'Business Class' in English so this class is ideal if you are a business traveller looking for some extra comfort at a good price. Just like in Gran Class you will get a private room with 2 beds which can be converted into an armchair. Breakfast is included in the price but dinner is not and you will have to make a reservation by yourself at the restaurant car( Both for breakfast and dinner, I would recommend doing this as soon as you get on the train because it can get quite busy) A washbasin is included in the room and you will get some complimentary toiletries with it as well as a towel. This class is ideal for business travelers or anyone who wants some comfort but does not want to pay the high Gran Class train fare.

Tourist Class

Tourist class is the most affordable accommodation and is ideal for budget travelers, backpackers or families( Families can have an entire compartment for themselves) Tourist class is a shared room with 4 beds and a washbasin, Mineral water as well as some toiletries are provided to every passenger. The beds will during daytime be folded down into 4 seats. Food or drink is not included in the price although you are free to use the restaurant or bar facilities. This class is the cheapest and you can usually travel for just 93 Euro! one-way per person.

This train features both a bar and restaurant. Both are of very high quality and offer excellent service to all passengers. If you do not want to sit in the restaurant to eat a meal you can also opt for a lighter mail in the bar of the train. All passengers can use the bar and restaurant( Including not mentioned in this article seated passengers)

Restaurant

The restaurant serves high-quality cuisine and has a formal and elegant atmosphere. The food prices are quite reasonable though not very cheap. Like explained earlier in this article you will have to reserve a table yourself( Unless you are travelling in Gran Class where this is all done for you) You can also eat the food in your room if you like( It might be better to try this in a private room) or you can eat and even order it in the bar car. If you like a less formal experience than it might be a better idea to eat in the bar car

Bar

The bar serves drinks and food and has a more informal atmosphere. You can order food from the restaurant and eat in the bar or you can order lighter snacks to eat. Prices are exactly the same as in the train restaurant so sitting in the bar is not going to make it cheaper. The bar is open during dinner and breakfast and so you can choose to eat dinner in the restaurant and breakfast in the bar or vice versa.
